VALIMET offers Toll Atomization as a service. Our Special Alloys group is comprised of two atomizing systems that produce spherical, standard and custom Aluminum Alloy Powders. Production quantities from 100 pounds to 100 tons are possible for alloys with melting temperatures up to 2500 F.
VALIMET can alter atomizing conditions to achieve a desired cooling rate, particle size distribution or characteristic. The Pilot Plant is also used to test process improvements and innovative equipment designs. Once these technologies are proven successful, they are integrated into full-scale production systems.
Typical aluminum alloys include AA 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000 and 8000 series, high purity aluminum (99.9%+), and proprietary alloys. The data sheet attached below lists VALIMET’s common alloying elements, although we’re open to review proprietary formulations of any sort. The typical particle size distributions range from 2 to 200 microns and may be classified to precise sizing parameters.
