UCONN: 20 Years of Research with VALIMET Powders

January 6, 2025

Launching a whole new section in our Literature webpage: Material Science and Engineering. We inaugurate it by listing significant contributes by University of Connecticut, covering twenty years of Research.

These works are based on VALIMET’s Aluminum spherical powders and noticeably, most of them were made in collaboration with Pratt & Whitney.

Our kudos and gratitude go to UCONN’s Materials Science and Engineering Professor Mark Aindow, who stewarded these activities.

See his research areas:

  • Novel quasicrystal-reinforced aluminum alloys
  • Microstructural development in metal additive manufacturing
  • Phase transformations in high temperature aerospace alloys
  • Nanostructured materials for catalytic/functional applications
  • Defects and interfaces in thin films

Please note that five publications by Prof. Mark Aindow’s team are now listed in our Cold Spray Literature page.

We’re proud of our collaboration with this distinguished team of researchers and look forward to what we’ll do next together.
