February 16, 2023

VALIMET is honored to have received the SOECS Outstanding Service Award by University of the Pacific. Here is their statement:

“On Monday, we were proud to host several executives from VALIMET our long-time organizational partner, for the presentation of their SOECS Outstanding Service Award.

VALIMET was selected for the breadth of their exemplary, sustained service to SOECS’s mission and goals. VALIMET’s engagement with SOECS has ranged from collaborating with our Mechanical Engineering faculty on research projects to their recent donation of a Scanning Electronic Microscope for use by students and faculty. VALIMET has also been one of SOECS’s most generous corporate donors through the years.

VALIMET executives attending the award presentation were Chris Adam, President; Michael Royer, Vice President of Operations; and Larry Elam Jr, Quality Manager. The itinerary for their campus visit included a tour of the site for our new Makerspace and a demonstration of the Scanning Electronic Microscope (SEM) at the first-floor laboratory in Chambers.

Special thanks to professors JuEun Lee and Joshua Steimel for participating in the meeting, along with Jeremy Hanlon for getting the SEM operational and helping lead an exceptional tour of the proposed Makerspace. And we were so pleased that two students from my research lab, Nyla Maharaj and Ramon Guzman, also joined in the meeting and shared the highlights of their student experiences and work in the lab. Thanks to Dan Mackeben for organizing the meeting!”
