Some years ago, at a US battery show, there was a discussion on the ICE-to-Hybrid-to-EV transition.
A TOYOTA engineer had a one liner slide that sent a shock wave through the audience: “It’s all about Thermal Management”.
Whether I think micro (metal alloy selection for satellite components) or Macro (cooling cost for data centers as one of the drivers for their deployment in Space), that line haunts me. I pass it along.
The guy to see for Thermal Management mastery remains Guy Wagner, Electronic Cooling Solutions.
He had a say on launch costs when we had a lunch in Antwerp, Belgium, April 2007:
“Luigi, Elon Musk has cut the costs of the Space Industry by 8/9!”
– and look at it now…

VALIMET is a US based manufacturer of Aluminum Alloys for Additive Manufacturing and pure Aluminum Spherical powders for solid propellants.
We’re fit to support the booming of the Space Industry, thanks to our available manufacturing capacity and growth plan.

The Cost Crash That Chnaged Space Forever
Space is no longer just a frontier – it’s becoming an increasingly accessible economic arena.
Launch costs have fallen from $25,000 to as littleas $200 per kilogram, dramatically lowering the barrier to orbit and accelerating commercial activity.
And the shift doesn’t stop at launch.
From Saudi Arabia’s $2 billion space investment to India’s lunar south pole ambitions, nations around the world are making strategic bets on space – for economic growth, technological advancement, and national development.
The question is no longer whether space will shape the future.
It’s who will be ready to build it.
