Drones, Defense Strategies and Aluminum Powders for Additive Manufacturing

October 25, 2024

“Drones are transforming Defense strategies, with AI emerging as a pivotal player in this paradigm shift.

Also, Metal 3D printing (especially Aluminum alloys) could contribute to the future of drones manufacturing.

Let’s wind the clocks back: in a totally separate domain, Intel Corporation made its mark with drone light shows, leading the way in managing ‘swarms of drones.’ I was introduced to that while working with manufacturers of Lithium-Ion batteries for advanced applications.

Noteworthy displays at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics showcased Intel Corporation’s expertise in managing 1218 and 1824 drones, respectively. (For the records, this business has been acquired by Nova Sky Stories).

One can truly say that Innovation unfolds in diverse, sometimes non-obvious sectors.

Visiting trade shows, I recently had conversations with professionals from Palantir TechnologiesAmazon Web Services (AWS) and exchanged ideas with a well-informed friend, Danny Piper.

I recommend reading this blog post by Palantir: it can get you up to speed on these topics.

Something to discuss at Defense Tech X; right, Jay Miseli?”
