3D printed Rocket Engine Nozzle at NASA

Something good for the Additive Manufacturing industry just happened.

Congrats to the ELEMENTUM 3D team, RPM Innovations, Inc. and Paul Gradl‘s team at NASA – National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

We’re glad that a lightweight Aluminum Alloy is the selected material. This project paves the way for more AM nozzle applications, bringing up a key question: what value does the AM process bring to the table?

This article mentions benefits in lead time, streamlined manufacturing process. All of that adds value to an attractive cost of ownership.

Something to chat about at AMUG (Additive Manufacturing Users Group).
